When I was growing up, I had a less-than-amicable relationship with my siblings. My parents were constantly comparing us, which prompted us to be extremely competitive and angry with one another. We found ourselves battling for places in school, trying to impress our folks, and always trying to one-up each other. It was stressful, and I wanted to make things better for my own kids. To improve things, I worked hard to teach my kids to love each other from a young age. This simple change create a culture of love and acceptance.
